Tampa Bay Area Philanthropists to be Honored at National Philanthropy Day Event

Visionary philanthropy at both the individual and corporate level will be honored at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Tampa Bay Chapter’s 36th Annual National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 13th at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida.

“AFP Tampa Bay is honored to celebrate philanthropy in our community and to recognize those who make a difference in the lives of others through their generosity,” said Julie Perrelli, AFP Tampa Bay President. “By sharing their stories, we hope to further ignite the philanthropic spirit in our Tampa Bay community.”

More than just a celebration, National Philanthropy Day is an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving – and to acknowledge the vital role of philanthropy to improve lives and strengthen communities. AFP Tampa Bay, alongside presenting sponsor, the Community Foundation Tampa Bay, will shine a spotlight on Tampa Bay philanthropists, businesses, organizations and volunteers – all of whom have made a tremendous impact on our community in their own unique way.

“National Philanthropy Day is a reminder that philanthropy is more than a moment - it is a movement that shapes the future of our community,” said Sheila Kinman, Senior Vice President, Philanthropy for Community Foundation Tampa Bay. “We are honored to partner with AFP Tampa Bay to celebrate those who lead with generosity and leave a legacy of impact for generations to come.”

This year’s honorees include:

  • Philanthropist of the Year: The Pagidipati Family - Nominated by Berkeley Preparatory School and St. Joseph’s Hospitals Foundation

  • Philanthropic Corporation of the Year: Enterprise Mobility - Nominated by Humane Society of Tampa Bay

  • Philanthropic Partner of the Year: USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy - Nominated by University of South Florida Foundation, Inc.

  • Gayle Sierens Volunteer of the Year in Philanthropy: Dzuy Nguyen Nominated by Big Sea

“It is such a privilege to be able to give back to a community and a country that has given so much to me and my family,” said Sidd Pagidapati. “My father came to America with $8 in his pocket. Just one generation later, we are fortunate to be able to make a transformational gift to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Our philanthropy is all part of our vision to make Tampa Bay the best place in the United States to raise a family.”
