Conference Agenda:

Cherian Koshy - Vice President, Kindsight

Artificial intelligence is changing fundraising quickly, but the biggest questions ahead are not really about technology. They are about trust, judgment, connection, and what donors will expect from the organizations they choose to support.

Fundraisers are navigating a remarkable convergence: donor participation is narrowing, trust in institutions is fragile, people are increasingly disconnected, expectations for personalization and transparency are rising, and AI is making it possible to know, predict, and automate more than ever before. What happens when all of those forces collide?

This session goes beyond AI hype and fear to examine the choices fundraisers will actually face. We’ll explore where AI can strengthen human connection, where automation can create unexpected ethical and reputational risks, and why ethics may become one of fundraising’s most important strategic advantages.

You’ll leave with a practical framework for deciding what AI should automate, where it should assist, when humans should approve, and what should remain fundamentally human, along with a clearer view of what the future of fundraising may require from all of us.

Cherian Koshy

His work explores how neuroscience, behavioral science, and ethics shape generosity, leadership, and organizational decision-making in an increasingly complex world.

A visionary entrepreneur, Cherian is the founder of NonprofitOS (now, engage)—an AI-powered platform that transformed nonprofit operations and was later acquired by Kindsight, where he now serves as Vice President, helping mission-driven organizations adopt ethical, human-centered technology.

Cherian holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation and is the 118th person in the world to hold the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) credential. He is also certified in behavioral science from Harvard Business School and in the ethics of AI from the London School of Economics. Erik Tomalis

Erik Tomalis is an internationally recognized nonprofit leader, speaker, and fundraiser with more than two decades of experience helping mission-driven organizations grow generosity and strengthen donor relationships. Throughout his career, he has personally conducted more than 5,000 face-to-face donor solicitations and helped raise millions of dollars for organizations spanning healthcare, education, faith-based, human services, athletics, and youth-serving sectors.

Erik has held leadership roles with Virtuous, the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Boy Scouts of America, and other nonprofit organizations, building expertise in major gifts, capital campaigns, fundraising strategy, and organizational growth.

A sought-after keynote speaker and educator, Erik serves on the advisory board of Fundraising.AI and is a member of the Giving Institute. He is passionate about helping nonprofits combine empathy, innovation, and technology to create meaningful human connections and lasting impact.
